If 0patch Agent installation fails, please try some of the following as applicable:
- If on Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2, make sure you have January 2020 Windows Update installed.
- Download the installation package again and try installing the agent again.
- Restart your computer and try installing the agent again.
- If you have any other security software installed on the computer, check its alerts, logs and quarantine for any events or files related to 0patch.
- Check for known compatibility issues with other software products.
- If 0patch Agent has been installed on the computer before, manually clean up any of its residues:
- Execute sc delete 0patchService to delete the 0patch service.
- Execute sc delete 0patchDriver to delete the 0patch kernel driver.
- Delete the entire 0patch folder under c:\Program Files (on 32-bit Windows) or c:\Program Files (x86) folder (on 64-bit Windows), or wherever you tried to install 0patch Agent if you chose not to use the default location.
- Launch regedit.exe as administrator and delete the entire HKLM\Software\0patch registry key.
- Try installing the agent again.
- If you can't fully uninstall 0patch Agent, try using Microsoft's Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter. (Note: Microsoft Edge won't let you download this Microsoft's tool with a valid signature by simply clicking on the link, claiming it could harm your computer. You can still download it by right-clicking on the "Download troubleshooter" link and selecting "Save link as")
- If failed installation reported errors 2502 or 2503, please use this article that has helped a few of our users before who had the same problem.
- Create a detailed Windows Installer log by executing the installation in an administrative Command Prompt window: msiexec /i "0PatchInstaller_22.11.11.10550.msi" /L*v install.log
- Please report the details of your problem to support@0patch.com, along with attached c:\Windows\Temp\0patchInstall.log and install.log created in the previous step.
